Odisha train accident: CBI arrests three railway officials
Three people responsible for the Odisha train accidents, have been arrested by union govt investigating agency, the Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI), on Friday. The Odisha train accidents, which caused the death of 293 people and left over 1,000 injured.
The arrested three railway officials are, senior section engineer Arun Kumar Mohanta, section engineer Mohammad Amir Khan and technician Pappu Kumar.
As per reoprts, these three accused were very much aware that their actions might lead to tragedy.
The arrest have been made under Indian Penal Code sections 304 (Punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender).
Last week, the Commission of Railway Safety (CRS) that was probing the incident flagged that human error in railway signalling system led to one of the deadliest railway crashes in India's history.
